I know more than my muslim friend about her religion?

ok so my parents divorced when i was 6 so i didnt know till i was 14 that i was half arab (lebanese) when i heard my aunt say to my mom that i was looking more arab the older i got (my mom is white).ever sinse then i started studying islam... i was raised in a christian home so this came very easily to me. i study islam very pionately and i know it well, but i always thought that i wasnt that great at it. then i was talking to my muslim friend and i found that i knew more about the hadith and sunnah and quran than she did (hope i spelled them right). she asked me to help her and to start teaching her in islam and i am a christian. i told her yeah but only if i could also teach her some things about christianity... how they are simular and different. i respect my friend and her beliefs as well as islam and muslims, but i am wondering if this is how most american muslims are.... tainted by america's standards and traditions. esspecially american muslim teens.
