Secular Friends : What was the catalyst for your disbelief in a god(s), or absolute rejection of religion?

I was in high school when the Da Vinci Code came out, (i went to a small private school in the deep south bible belt) and my calculus teacher caught me with it in the hallway and took it away, claiming it "lies and a tool of the devil to cast doubt." fun memory.
