Why were Labour happy to take credit for a world boom but now the economy is a world issue?

Remember Brown's boast,'No more Tory boom and bust?' I bet he wishes he'd kept his mouth shut now. No doubt Gordon and his gang will try to blame it all on Maggie Thatcher.
