What is it with commercials these days?!?

why are commercials soooo weird today, they make no sense at all and have nothing to do with the product. whats with the one with the nuts where the 3 women are flying around with their guitars from robert palmer video putting makeup on a guy sleeping because he didn't eat his nuts??? and sense when does a mom laugh and say is alright when a kids breaks thru a wall to get pizza rolls? crazy!
